However, this story seemed unresolved at the end as Sookie went home without reuniting with any of her vampire comrades. Hopefully, book 8 will tie up numerous loose ends. I've enjoyed the series so far, and this installment was as fast paced as the others, full of twists and turns. It seemed overly rushed to end the story so abruptly after all that happens.
Can't wait to begin 'From Dead to Worse' in a moment. I'd prefer that she picked Eric, I sure would, but at this point, anyone would be better than this constant back and forth thing. I just wish she would hurry up and choose a dude already. it is still entertaining. So.after having read all 6 previous Sookie books, and enjoying them, I have to say that this one has been my favorite so far :) It was action packed and funny, although less funny than some of the others, and just a really good book. I zoomed through it quite quickly, and can't wait to start the next one.which I already own. Although it is slightly annoying and roller-coaster-ish (you like that madeup word, didn't cha).
She's willing to go to earn her keep and Quinn is planning various parts of the events. That's a huge factor in how she gets involved in a slew of the events taking place at the conference. Barry even makes a move or two on her.Sookie's talent plays a key part here, but she also plays sleuth. Sookie goes as a witness to the death of the King of Arkansas.
That's all that keeps this from getting five stars in my book.If you're a Sookie fan, you'll enjoy this, even if there is only one romantic scene. What's not great about the book is the sudden wrap up and all but writing everyone into their happy lives again. At least it seems odd to me not being near the oldest, wisest, or for that matter the most educated. There's plenty of action, intrigue, and even explosions. Not enough to have one man pushing themselves on her, this book brings us Barry, Eric, Quinn, and Andre. Woah.Sookie joins the Queen of Louisiana's entourage for the big vampire conference up near Chicago. What transpires is a convoluted crossing of plots involving love, rivalry, and murder plots. It finds her getting all to close to some of the vampires, including Eric and Andre, the queens consort.
It's abrupt after a Sookie novel that's long for the series. Sookie Stackhouse can't win for losing. So she's looking for some sight seeing and some date time. Oddly enough, she seems to be the smartest one in the bunch for most of the book.
I enjoyed it. Like all of Charlaine's books this one was good. But can't say that it was her best.
In this book, Sookie finds herself attending the Vampire Summit, on an assignment for Sophie-Anne, the Vampire Queen of Louisiana. As has become typical in this series, there are plenty of plot intrigues, and character development, though at times, I feel there is too much being crammed into too few pages. On the whole though, this is an addictive and fun series that will appeal to fans of the supernatural genre. "All Together Dead" is the seventh installment in the Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris featuring Sookie Stackhouse, the attractive gal with telepathic ability and who always seems to attract otherworldy beings' interest. Sookie is accompanied by her BF, Quinn the were-tiger, but things as always get complicated with Eric and Bill, both vampires with more than a casual interest in Sookie, attending as well.
